The Focused Advocacy Program is designed to tackle problems of structural nature in the socio-economic, policy and legal environment for the realization of human rights of the poor and the disadvantaged.

The Focused Advocacy Program of APAP has the following specific objectives:

• Bringing about changes in the socio economic and policy environment as well as in the prevalent practices and structures contributing for the realization of human rights,
• Improving the application of human rights standards and norms through effective translation of same in policies and laws as well as in practice,
• Documenting and publishing focused-advocacy experiences of APAP and its partners, and
• Building up the experience of APAP and others in conducting broad based and networked advocacy to bring about changes having wider impact on the realization of human rights.
